September 13, 1936 - July 27, 2022

Lolito Soria Abad passed away at the age of 85 on the afternoon of July 27, 2022, at his home in Benicia, CA, after a courageous battle with malignant mesothelioma. Lolito was born to Jose Abad and Juana Abad on Sept.13, 1936, in the Philippines.

Lolito moved to the United States with his parents and younger sister Teresita several years later and settled in Aiea, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu, where he lived until he was 18 years old. After high school, Lito joined the U.S. Navy, where he served this country for 20 years, and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.

Lolito met Manesia Damasco in 1968 and eventually married her, the love of his life, in 1970. While stationed in Hawaii, they welcomed their newborn son, Mark, in 1974. After the family moved to Benicia, Lolito again served the country as a nuclear marine machinist at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, CA, where he worked for another 20 years.

After Lito and Nesy both retired, they lived their best life, traveled the world, and visited many foreign locales, often via cruise ships. They went everywhere, and visited every continent except Antarctica. They went to Hawaii, Alaska, the Philippines, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Arctic Circle, Australia & New Zealand, the Caribbean, and even to the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu. Lito enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening.
