(1913 - 2010)

Raymond E. Brunner, age 96, formerly of Whitelaw, and currently of River Wood Estates, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Raymond was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Whitelaw, son of the late Anton and Irma Schimmel Brunner.

On Oct. 30, 1935, Raymond married the former Emogene A. Tuschel at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. She preceded him in death, July 2, 1998.

Raymond was the founder and owner of Brunner Sausage Company and Whitelaw Super Market until his retirement in 1958. Raymond was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Reedsville Knights of Columbus, Manitowoc Chapter No. 138 Izaak Walton League of America and was a recipient of the Rahr Diamond Award. Raymond was also a charter member and former president of the Whitelaw Lion's Club, former trustee of the Whitelaw Village Board, former director of Northeast WI Plastic Corporation, Luxemburg, past member of the Manitowoc Elks Lodge No. 687 and former director of Calvis Company, Green Bay. After retirement Raymond was co-owner and operator of Al Radey Trucking Inc.
Raymond loved to work outdoors and tinker in his shed, travel to his cottage on Bass Lake at Townsend, Wis., spend time with his hunting buddies and travel to Alaska and Canada on fishing trips.

Survivors include; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice "Jan" and Ronald Dugan, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Michele Brunner, Boca Raton, Fla.; two grandchildren, Dean G. and Susan Dugan, Mishicot, Lori A. and Alan Norkosky, Manitowoc; nine great-grandchildren, Dawn (Eric) Hill, Cato, Dana Dugan and Brian McDonald, Manitowoc, Lauren and Austin Norkosky, Manitowoc, Tyler, Jason, Shannon, Gary, and Mike; one special great great-grandson, Connor McDonald, Manitowoc; two other great-great-grandchildren, Blake, and Layla; two sisters, Flossie Kohlbeck, Manitowoc, Genrose Falvey, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law, Kathaleen Brunner, Whitelaw; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife Emogene; brother, Howard; two brothers-in-law, Ray Kohlbeck, and Bill Falvey; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Rev. Dave Zimmerman will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, Wisconsin 310, Manitowoc.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of mass at 11 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the Brunner family with funeral arrangements.
