"ALBANY — James J. Dorsey, 70, of Albany, N.Y., went to be with his Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, prayerfully surrounded by his three children. Born Feb. 10, 1942, in Troy, N.Y., he was the son of the late James J. and Ruth Ann (LaFerierer) Dorsey. Jim graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1961 and immediately entered the work force. He began working for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. in 1968 in Glens Falls and retired from Albany National Grid in 1999. He was a proud member of the Niagara Mohawk 25-Year Club. Jim was a very caring man who was deeply devoted to all his family members. The many memories he left his family and friends will be cherished in our hearts forever. He married his beloved wife Carole Zoll in 1978. During their 34 years of marriage, they enjoyed trips to Ocean City, Md., Atlantic City, Alabama and North Carolina as well as many visits to Saratoga. Jim was an avid sports fan who spent many hours over the years attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Jim also relished the many special rounds golfing with family and friends. In addition, he enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams, the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Jim had a special relationship with many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving sister, Helen Dorsey Sheppard; his loving niece, Colleen Dorsey; his loving mother-in-law, Velma Zoll; and his loving brother-in-laws, William Zoll and Dick Swart.
