Harold H. Ney, age 86 of rural Manitowoc, died Saturday, August 13, 2022 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Harold was born June 18, 1936 in Sheboygan County, son of Emil and Waleska (Stecker) Ney. The family moved to the town of Kossuth following his birth and he attended local schools and graduated from Mishicot High School in 1954. Following high school Harold joined the National Guard and later became a member of the Army Reserves, Company 377 retiring after 14 years.

He was a production supervisor at the Mirro Company, retiring after 47 years.

On June 4, 1966 Harold married Jean M. Rabas at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Stangelville.

Following Harold's retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe.

Harold was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc, Johnson-Hershman American Legion Post #363 of Denmark, Two Rivers Senior Center, Rockwood-Francis Creek Senior Citizens, "Lakeshore" 2 Cylinder Club, the Management Club of Mirro and a former 27-year member of the Township of Two Rivers Volunteer Fire Department. Harold enjoyed deer hunting from the age of sixteen, hunting in Wisconsin, other states and Canada.

His love of John Deere tractors is legendary, he collected them and his farm became his hobby following retirement. Harold attended many tractors shows, playing Sheepshead and loved polka music. He played the tuba in a polka band for many years.

Survivors include his wife: Jean Ney, rural Manitowoc; two sons: Christopher Ney, Two Rivers, Doug Ney, West Bend; two granddaughters: Merrit Ney, West Bend, Emma Ney, Minneapolis, MN; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy Ney, Two Rivers, Gary (Nancy) Rabas, Luxemburg, Wayne (Susie) Rabas, Luxemburg, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Emil and Waleska Ney; 4 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law: Nelson (Frances Ney-Doughman) Ney, George Ney, Louie (Ruth) Ney, Clarence (Violet) Ney; 3 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law: Evangeline (Alfred) Engelbrecht, Caroline (Norbert) Malchek, Helen (Rudy) Bender

Funeral 11 AM, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi-Waldo Site, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Doug LeCaptain will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11 AM.

Following the service Military honors will be accorded by the Johnson-Hershman American Legion Post #363 of Denmark in front of the church.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. Following the Military Honors all friends and family are invited to a luncheon at City Limits, 3627 County Road CR, Manitowoc.
