Station in Korea during Vietnam War
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son and brother.

Larry was the eldest son of Peter and Lois Cole of Norwalk Connecticut. He grew up loved and admired for his patient soul, quick wit and intelligence. You can't mention his childhood without mentioning his brother Jerry. Between the two of them they were often unsupervised and found unusual ways to amuse themselves. The adventures included BB guns, ice skating, boating, swimming in the pond, and endless pranks.

Larry graduated from college with a degree in education and later went on to obtain his Masters. He was drafted along with his brother during Vietnam and was sent to Korea becoming an MP guarding the perimeter. After he returned home, his mom Lois who worked for New England Bell, invited him to meet her for lunch. At the last moment she said she had to cancel but please have lunch with her co-worker Nancy. It was love at first sight and the couple were soon married in a gorgeous Christmas wedding. As time went on they bought homes, had two children Jason and Jennifer, and eventually ended up in Orlando to be near Larry's parents and Jerry. Larry changed his career to the US Postal Service and retired just a few years prior to his passing. He and Nancy suffered the worst pain when they lost their beloved son Jason. But, they received their happiest moments when their daughter married and later gave them their granddaughter Lilly.

Between all the highs and lows, Larry worked hard, took great care of his father-in-law and his own parents as they aged and needed senior care. He took his little family on a long vacation traveling all over the USA, there were trips to Disney and every amusement park, the beaches, and trips back to New England. I was lucky enough to have them visit us several times in the mountains. He was a gifted and dedicated father and grandfather. Larry and Nancy were an example of a true couple, loving and caring. He lost Nancy only a year before he passed and maybe that's why we lost him too soon. We know that the grief he left behind will turn into sweet and funny memories.

Larry's Obituary:
Baldwin Funeral Home, Winter Park, Florida
We are heartbroken to announce that Lawrence "Larry" Cole, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on August 16, 2022. Larry was admired for his intelligent wit and endless kindness to his family and friends. Born in Norwalk Connecticut he graduated from Norwalk High School, received his bachelors from Southern Connecticut State University, and later earned his Masters.
In the 1960s he served our country in Korea as an MP in the US Army. A long time resident of Orlando, he was retired from the US Postal Service. Larry enjoyed traveling, reading, history and current events. Always self-less, he provided care for his father-in-law and parents as they aged. A loving father he also shared a strong bond with his granddaughter Lilly. Larry was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy D. Cole in 2021, and his son Jason Patrick Cole in 2002. Dad, we will miss you terribly, but we take comfort in knowing that you are with Nancy and Jason.
