Duane passed away at 11:27 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana, with his family by his side. Birthplace at the old Home Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana.
He was the son of Maurice and Hazel ( Long ) Herr. On September 3, 1989, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, he married Beth Davis, who survives.
Duane enjoyed watching birds, especially humming birds. He especially loved and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
He had worked at J.H. Saylor Company of Burnettsville, Indiana, was the plant manager at ESSEX of Delphi, Indiana, and Dejay of Greeneville, Tennessee.
Along with his wife, Duane is survived by Five (5) Children, Lucas (wife Aimee) Herr of Stony Plain, Alberta Canada; Jacob (wife Nicole) Chaney of Monticello, Indiana; Mark (wife Lizeth) Herr of Monticello, Indiana; Matthew Chaney of Crown Point, Indiana; and Jessica "Jess" (husband Jacob) Secrest of Winamac, Indiana; Fifteen (15) Grandchildren, Jayden Herr, Liam Herr, Skylan Herr, Hannah Chaney, Bryce Chaney, Eliana Chaney, Micah Chaney, Jonah Chaney, Miguel Vazquez - Gonzalez, Noah Herr, Ethan Herr, Avery Herr, Amia Herr, Carmen Herr - Secrest, and Jak Secrest; Four (4) Siblings,
