Mrs. Ethel Shinnebarger
The death of Mrs. Ethel Shinnebarger on Friday evening, though not unexpected, cast a mantle of sadness over the entire community. After weeks of patient suffering this fair young wife, mother and daughter, passed beyond the sweet ministration of loving friends and went to live with the redeemed. The family have the sympathy of all in the sad hour of their trial.

Obituary.
Rachel Ethlyn, daughter of Robert and Anna Ransom, was born in Versailles, November 25, 1902, and passed away at the home of her father three miles northeast of town, March 21, 1929, being 27 years, 3 months and 27 days of age at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to Ray Shinnebarger, November 1, 1923 (In Mt. Sterling). To this union three children were born: Sheila Grace, Anna Maurine and little Magdalene, who died at Blessings hospital, Quincy, February 11, 1929. Besides her husband and children she leaves her father and mother and two brothers, Homer A., of Versailles, and George R., of Abingdon, Ill.; also one step-daughter, Amanda Lucile Shinnebarger of Mt. Sterling. She united with the Christian church at Versailles during the revival conducted there by Rev. Mauck in November 1922.
The husband has lost a good wife, the children a kind and loving mother, but we are reminded that our loss is Heaven's eternal gain.
Funeral services were held from the Christian church in Versailles, Saturday, March 23, at two o'clock p.m., conducted by the Rev. W. M. Porter, in the presence of a large and sympathetic audience. Interment was in Versailles cemetery.
I cannot say and will not say
That she is dead; she is just away.
With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand
She wandered into an unknown land
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be since she lingers there.
And you, Oh you, who the wildest yearn
For the old-time step and the glad return.
Think of her as faring on, as dear
In the love of there and the love of here.
Think of her still as the same.
I say she is not dead, she is just away.

Card of Thanks.
We wish to thank all our kind friends and neighbors who aided us in any way during the sickness and death of our loved one; also our dear nurse, Mrs. Ruth Leverton, who so faithfully ministered to her every want during her long hours of suffering.
