Doris Lydia (Boberg) Like Simpson, age 84, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2022, at home. Doris was born September 17, 1937, in Knox County, IN, to Ewald and Laura (Krueger) Boberg.

She was an active member of Blue Grass Church where she taught Sunday School in her early years, and then after retirement, she helped with church funeral meals, Feed My Sheep Ministry meals, and quilting. Doris retired as the Bookkeeper from Lewis Bakery. She was a member of both the Warrick and Mt. Carmel Promenaders Square Dance Clubs and the Evansville Square Dance Council. Doris enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, bowling, quilting, cross-stitching, and embroidery work.

Doris is survived by her children, Kenneth Like of Evansville, IN, Douglas Like of Haubstadt, IN, David Like of Columbia, SC, Debbie Harvey (Steve) of Evansville, IN, and Kimberly Like of Princeton, IN; sister, Mary Miller of Bedford, IN; grandchildren, Brian Like, Brittany Krohn (Brandon), Alyssa Alderson-Like, Corbon Naas, Taylor Like, and Dylan "Lauren" Like; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Ewald and Laura Boberg; first husband whom she married September 2, 1956, Kenneth "Darrell" Like, who passed away in 1985; second husband whom she married March 27, 1994, Robert "Bob" Simpson, who passed away in 2009; grandson, Joseph Samuel Like Binson; brothers, Richard Boberg and Kenneth Boberg; and brother-in-law, Jack Miller.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Pastor Ben Lovell officiating. Burial will be in Blue Grass Church Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022, and from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, August 26, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
