Talbert Rexroad "Rex" Foster, 81 years and 4 months of age, of Somerset Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, March 27th, 2003 at the Thompson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky following a lengthy illness.

Talbert was born on Sunday, November 27th, 1921, in Bronston, Kentucky. He was the son of the late William Foster and Nova Clemens Foster.

Talbert was a Private First Class in the United States Army during World War II, a construction worker, and was of the Baptist faith. He lived in several states through out his life and was said by many to have a punch has hard as a mules kick. He loved chewing his tobacco and spending time with family and friends.

Talbert was survived by one son, Donald Wayne (and Lois) Foster; four daughters, Sarah McClung, Peggy Sue Ellis, Wanda Lynn Wyatt, and Nancy Louise (and Bill) Barmore; fourteen grandchildren, Vickie Stone, Duane Myers, Brenda Bennett, Deby Blackstone, Michael Barmore, Christopher Barmore, Danny Whitaker, David Ellis, Scott Foster, Tina Priest, Jeffrey Foster, Rodney Foster, Stacy Wyatt, and Sandie Wyatt; twenty three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Evelyn Christine Stone Foster, whom he married in Covington, Kentucky on Friday, May 5th, 1944 and who departed this life on Thursday, January 21st, 1988; his parents, William and Nova Foster; two brothers, Charlie Hurston and John Foster; three sisters, Delta Bolin, Nannie Malone and Rhodia Foster; and a grandchild, Cody Ellis.

Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th, 2003 at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30th, 2003 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Military Honors were conducted by the American Legion Post No#38 Honor Guard.

Burial followed in the Tanner Cemetery on Clifty Road in Somerset, Kentucky.
