She is survived by her parents, Harold and Rita, her sister Lesli, her son Coleman, daughter-in-law Kara, daughter Jessica, two cherished grandchildren, Harrison and Sailor, aunt Lila, uncle Del and several cousins.
Lori was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2015. Although her prospects for 5-year survival were low, Lori was determined to live to meet her first grandchild, and to see her daughter graduate from high school. Lori surpassed these goals and met her second grandchild. She used the next 7 years to raise awareness on the symptoms of ovarian cancer and the lack of early testing. She is recognized in several support groups as an inspirational and charismatic friend and ally.
Those who knew Lori, felt blessed to know an incredibly loving, compassionate, empathetic person who cared about all with her whole heart.
A memorial service to honor Lori is scheduled for Saturday September 3 for close friends and family at Dwight Lydell Park in Comstock Park at 1:00 p.m. The memorial will be live streamed on her Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lori's name to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance will be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made at https://www.mioca.org/donate.
