We welcomed this wonderful puppy into our family when he was just three months old. We adopted Curly (formerly "Baby Bear") from West Suburban Humain Society in Downers Grove, IL. The ride home was very memorable as he just sat in my wife's lap shaking from his unknown future. Once we got Curly home he immediately became a great companion and a loving family member.

Over the years, he acted in many respects, just like our child. His antics were funny and endearing. One time I had my infant son in his bouncy chair and Curly sat next to him with one of my son's teething nipples in his mouth, posing for me. When I would go out, he always wanting to join me (and always did), laying in my lap with his head sticking out the window. People would pull along side of me and just smile when they saw his beautiful face. I always made a point of going once a week to CUB Foods to buy him two big cowhide bones, the kind with the knobs on each end of the bone. After giving him one of those bones he would slowly chew it for the entire day leaving just a small piece of one end, signaling to me Mission Accomplshed. Curly was my best friend who I often referred to as my one-in-a-million dog.

His life was cut short by cancer, living just 9-1/2 years. I often think about him all these years later and his memory still brings tears to my eyes. Rest In Peace, our sweet baby, Curly. You will always be in our hearts.
