Dora Elaine Rose Edmondson, age 85, of Manistee, Michigan, died Monday, August 22, 2022 at Green Acres Retirement Home in Manistee.
She was born on December 11, 1936 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Clair and Irene (Sennyes) Sootsman. Dora married Dale E.J. Edmondson Sr., on July 14, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manistee. Dale preceded her in death on October 16, 2013. Most of Dora's life was devoted to her husband and raising and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her children grow up and taking in and participating in their school activities. She loved to go on picnics and take her family camping during the summer months. Dora was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in the Manistee Women's Leagues. She liked to play cards and enjoyed playing cards at the Manistee Senior Center. Dale and Dora, also traveled extensively around the United States, in their free time. Dora loved to read Harlequin Romance novels and Danielle Steel's books. She loved to crochet and in the winter there was always a card table set up in the living room, with a puzzle for everyone who would come over to help put together one piece at a time. She was an Elvis Presley fan and loved to listen to his music and watch his movies as often as she could. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish of Manistee.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Edmondson Sr, her grandson, Joshua Jensen, her parents Clair and Irene (Sennyes) Sootsman, her father in-law and mother in-law, Erford and Evelyn (Patterson) Edmondson, her brothers, Gene Sootsman and Clair Sootsman Jr., her sister, Carol Sootsman, and her twin sisters, Sharon Baldwin and Karen Lynch, her brothers and sisters in-law; Lynn Sr and Sharon Edmondson, and Mary Esther Edmondson, Roy and Hilda Edmondson, Mary and Walt Moskalski and Reta Racine.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend Zeljko Guberovic celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery
