Alva Don Yancey, 76, of Cave City passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Alva was born on July 8, 1946, in Caruthersville, Missouri to Floyd and Laura Yancey.
Alva is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Laura Yancey; his daughter Dena Michelle Yancey; brother Alvin Dean Yancey; and sister Regina Lynn.
Alva is survived by his wife Brenda Yancey; son Alva Don (Sandy) Yancey JR. of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren Candice Elizabeth (David) Biewer, Taylor (Tyler) White, Andy (Madeline) Tidwell, Candi (AJ) Graper, and Allison Landus; great grandchildren Elsa, Ean, Emma, Paisley, Joshua, Hannah, and William; brothers Eugene Yancey of Covington, Tennesee, Gary (Pat) Yancey of Cabot, and Alton Yancey of Marianna, Arkansas; sister Ruth Ann (Kenneth) Eddy of North Little Rock; sister in law Patsy Yancey of Cleveland, Ohio; nephews Michael Yancey, Tommy Lynn, Jimmy Lynn, Gary D. Yancey, and Dean Yancey JR.; nieces Mary B. Clatwothy, Denise Yancy, and Lisa Bynum; many friends, great nieces and nephews.
All services will be held in the chapel of Hope Gardens Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, with the funeral service to immediately follow with Carroll Casey officiating. Alva will be laid to rest at Randolph Memorial Gardens.
