She was born in Scipio, Oklahoma, to Ezikel H. and Rose Etta (Sisco) Shropshire. She married Benjamin R. Evans on Jan. 13, 1933, in McAlester and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1995. She was a housewife all of her life, she worked in the fields and at home. She lived to see four generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She passed away at Walnut Grove Living Center in McAlester at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Frances Evans; four sisters, Marie Shropshire Fletcher, Beulah Shropshire Welch, Claudia Shropshire Evans and Ruby Shropshire, and four brothers, Artie, Presley, John and David Shropshire.
