Marvin Eugene "Tiny" Dawes, 40 years, 7 months and 18 days of age, of Science Hill, Kentucky, departed this life suddenly on Monday, March 28th, 1988 at his residence.

Marvin was born in Somerset, Kentucky on Saturday, August 9th, 1947, son of Huey Marvin "Hughie" and the late Opal Christine Hall Dawes. Tiny was a farmer, a volunteer fireman with the Science Hill Fire Department for eight years, and a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

Tiny was survived by his father, Huey Marvin "Hughie" Dawes; his loving wife of eighteen years, Elizabeth Ping Dawes, whom he married on March 3rd, 1970; three sons, Nelson Eugene Dawes of Eubank, Kentucky, and Marvin Andrew "Skippy" Branscum and Paul Christopher Dawes, both of Science Hill, Kentucky; three daughters, Shirley Bea Branscum of Somerset, Kentucky, Sharon Marie Dawes of Nancy, Kentucky, and Sandra Kay Dawes of Science Hill, Kentucky; his grandmother, Daisy Anderson of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Carl A. Smith, Jr. of Science Hill, Kentucky and Kenneth Ray Dawes of Elizabethtown, Tennessee; two sisters, Catherine Lucille Watkins of Fort Payne, Alabama and Linda Kay Flanagan of Somerset, Kentucky; two grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Dawes, who departed this life on July 6th, 1985; one brother, Larry Russell Hall; one sister, Sandra Gayle Dawes; and one grandchild.

Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30th, 1988 at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Landmark Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31st, 1988 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Landmark Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Slagle and Bro. Desi Allen officiating.

Burial followed in the Beech Grove Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
