CHELAN - James S. Hendrix, 84, a 41-year resident of Chelan, died Sunday, July 31, 1994, at the Regency Manor Convalescent Center.
He was born March 12, 1910, at Fiftysix, Ark., the son of W.D. and Minnie (Moss) Hendrix. He spent his early years in Arkansas.
He married Nora Melton on Nov. 4, 1934, in Melbourne, Ark. They moved to Chelan in 1953, where he worked for Clawson Orchard for several years. He later worked for Trout Inc. until his retirement in 1975. His wife preceded him in death in February of 1981.
Mr. Hendrix was a member of the Lake Chelan Baptist Church, of which he was instrumental in its inception and construction.
Survivors include two sons, Eudell, Chelan, and Jerry, Manson; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Anita) Williams of Denver, Colo., Bonnie Gay Kestner of Eagle Rock, Va., and Mrs. John (Lorita) Beeson of Chelan; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, five sisters, one grandson and a son-in-law.
