Lula Washington Wilborn Lowery, 97, died Monday, November 20, 2000 at The Woodview in South Boston. She was born in Virgilina, Va. on January 9, 1903, the daughter of Phillip T. and Laura Wilkins Wilborn and was married to the late Henry Hugo Lowery. Survivors include four children, Shelby C. Lowery of Bailey, N.C., Ken O. Lowery of Alton, Va., Laura L. Warren of Raleigh, N.C. and Lucy L. Russell of Clarksville, Va.; 12 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and five sisters. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 23 at 2 p.m. at Oakhurst Cemetery , Clarksville, Va. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 22 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. (Richmond Times-Dispatch - Wednesday, November 22, 2000)
