AARON R. ROBBINS (1804-1866)

Aaron R. Robbins (1804-1866) was the youngest child of "A" Robbins and "Old" Nancy Robbins who migrated from KY to TN around the time of Aaron's birth. On census records he is sometimes shown as born in KY, sometimes listed as born in TN. Aaron's son (Aaron Jr) was interviewed for a local historical/biographical survey that was published i 1893, and in it he reported that his paternal grandfather was a Rev. War veteran, who had died relatively young, leaving his paternal grandmother to raise her sons as a widow. Reconstructing her family group, the following children of "Old" Nancy and A. Robbins are known:

Richard ROBBINS 1785–1844 m. Nancy Richards (d. Washington Co., AR)
George Monroe Robbins 1792–1857 m. Orry/Aurry Skein (d. Williamson Co., TX)
John Robbins @ 1796– d. @ 1832 (d. Washington Co., AR)
Aaron R Robbins 1804-1866 (d. Williamson Co., TX

Aaron may have been the Aaron Robbins listed on the Izard Co. tax list in 1830 (at that time, Izard was adjacent to what would become Washington Co, and covered a vast area - the largest of three 'counties' that formed the northern border of Arkansas). He was listed on the 1840 census in Washington Co., AR, along with his mother, and most of the Robbins families (his brother George was already in Texas), and by1850 Aaron was in Williamson Co., TX where he would also appear on the 1860 census.

Aaron's wife was Elizabeth Susan Massey (1804-1864). They had four known children:
Sarah Elizabeth Robbins (1825–1862), m. her cousin, Robert R. Robbins (1818-1866)
Aaron R. Robbins Jr. (1826–1903) m. Susan Hannah
Nancy Jane Robbins (1831–1888) m. John David Foster
(the only child of Aaron to remain in Arkansas)
Richard R. Robbins 1836–1910) m. Mary Elizabeth Malvina Ake
(buried in Bell Co.)

Aaron's death was reflected by an 1866 probate action filed in Williamson Co. by his son, Aaron Jr. No headstone has been located for him, but he is presumed to be buried in the Robbins Cemetery near Granger in Williamson Co., where his mother and his mother and his two oldest children were buried.
