He was born Feb. 5, 1886, in Springfield, Mo., and came to Washington when he was 15.
He married Mae Eller in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on march 22, 1910. The family lived in Everett before coming to this area. He owned and operated a ranch north of Chelan and has lived in Waterville, East Wenatchee and most recently in Wenatchee. He was at one time employed by A. Z. Wells.
Survivors include two sons, Kearn Irelan, Dryden; Alfred Irelan, Aberdeen; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Canterbury, Wenatchee, Mrs. Forest (Shirley) Overman, Leavenworth, Mrs. Herbert (Maxine) Macy, Aubury, Calif., and Mrs. Vernal (Bernice) Beckman, East Wenatchee; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 12, 1968, by one daughter, two brothers and a sister.
