Valetta L. "Bonnie" Kummer, age 84 of Manitowoc, passed away at home Thursday, September 1, 2022, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born October 11, 1937, in Two Rivers daughter of the late Frank and Christine (VanderBusch) Weber. She attended schools in Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1955 from Two Rivers Washington High School. On June 23, 1956, Valetta married Edwin Kummer Jr. in Manitowoc, he preceded her in death March 17, 2017. She loved being with her family and friends and celebrating holidays, but Christmas was her greatest obsession. She enjoyed helping others, thrifting, gardening, and a good garage sale! She was a good Christian and had a zest for life. Survivors include four daughters, Karen Kummer (special friend Jim), Lily, WI, Connie (Lawrence) Newman, Antigo, Elly (Arnold) Bostwick, Post Lake, Audra (Mark) Gruenewald, Menomonee Falls, son-in-law Gordie Hayes, Antigo, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, sister-in-law Imogene Weber, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including dear friend Christi Rosinsky. She was sadly preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin of 60 years, daughter Holly Hayes, grandson Saun Hayes, great granddaughter Kaylea Burkhart, four brothers, a sister, and faithful pal Kokoa. A Memorial Service will be held at Lakeshore Life Celebration Center/ Peace United Church of Christ, (3613 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc) on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 11:30 am., with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer officiating. Relatives and friends may visit from 9:00 am until the time of services at 11:30 am. The Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Pfeffer Funeral Home location is assisting the family.
