Margaret "Peggy" Deane Swinford, 88, of Pekin, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at The Villas of Hollybrook in Pekin.

Born January 26, 1934 in Danville to Darrell Dean and Margaret M. (Finney) DeNeal, she married Joseph "Joe" H. Swinford on February 8, 1953 in Sidell, Illinois. He died July 28, 2018 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one great grandchild; one-step grandchild and one great-great grandchild.

Surviving are two sons, Scott (Mary) Swinford of Clinton, and Brian (Sandy) Swinford of Morton.

Peggy worked in the accounting department at Amoco Oil Company in North Pekin for 20 years, retiring in 1992.

An avid St. Louis Cardinals and Bradley Braves Basketball fan, Peggy also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and working crossword puzzles.

Peggy was a longtime dedicated member of First United Presbyterian Church of Pekin where she was a former Deacon and Elder. She also served in the Beta Sigma Phi Juniors Women's Club and Christian Civic Outreach.

Entombment will be at Glendale Chapel Mausoleum in Pekin.
