Albert Chelan LaMotte, 72, died Saturday, July 3, 1999, at Kodiak, Alaska.

He was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Chelan, the son of Harry and Hazel (Monk) LaMotte. His mother died three days following his birth so he was raised in a foster home. He attended school in Peshastin and Wenatchee.

Following school he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On June 7, 1947, he was married to Lucille Milner. He lived mostly in Oregon and Idaho, where he workedin the woods. He then operated heavy equipment on major job sites life the Hermiston Ordinace Depot and the Valdez Pipe Line in Alaska. He retired to Kodiak.

Survivors include five children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A service of commemoration will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Precht Rose Chapel.
