William "Bill" J. Benesch

William (Bill) Joseph Benesch was born on November 22, 1929, in Bristol County, Wisconsin and passed away September 8, 2022, at his home in Cedar Hill, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Shirley Jean Benesch, Mother Amy Benesch; Father, William V. Benesch; and sisters, Mrs. Carol (Viola) Westman and Mrs. Roland (Dorothy) Schmidt and brother Henry Benesch.

Bill is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Benesch; son, Roger Benesch and wife Lisa; grand and great-grandchildren: Lauren Cohoon and husband Mark, with children: Knox, Shepherd, Huxley; Zachary Benesch of Midlothian; and Abbey Thering and husband Garrett, with child: Luke. Bill is also survived by his adult children by marriage: sons, Glen and wife Kimberly and Shawn McGregor, Daughters, Dr. Cindy McGregor and husband Rolland Miller; Karen Aguilar and husband Tony. Also, he is survived by numerous grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his sisters: Polly Anderson and Delores Grover.

Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1946 he served as a Marine until the end of WWII when he was discharged.m. He enlisted in the Air Force when the Korean War, began. He fought in Korean War in USAF and retired from the United States Air Force in July of 1967 with the rank of T/Sgt, after serving 20 years in the military.
He was employed by the University Coop in Austin, Texas from 1969 until he retired on the last day of 1991. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, located in Cedar Hill, Texas and he loved to sing with the church choir, the Ellis County Southern Gospel Choir, located in Waxahachie, Texas and the Silver Serenaders of Texas, located in Cedar Hill, Texas. Bill was active in the Gideons International for many years where he held many offices. Bill was an avid golfer. Also, he loved Country Western Dancing, and he was quite good at it. Bill loved his family and friends, but service to his Lord was first in his heart.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, Texas. The Gideons International Ministry or the Silver Serenaders of Texas. Services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, TX, under the direction of Jeter and Son Funeral Home, located on Illinois Ave, in Dallas, Texas. Burial will be at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
