Son of James and Rebecca Bailey. Born on the old Bailey homestead near Pleasant Hill, OH. He moved with his parents to Fountain City, IN, in 1852. Married Hannah Wilcuts in 1860, who passed in 1865. They were parents parents of Florence and Lewis. Josiah moved to Lee County, IA, where he married Rachel Griffin Rogers in 1867. They were parents of Cora. The following year they moved to near Hesper, KS and remained there until Josiah's death.
