Thomas Wilson Bridgwaters, age 79, of Bloomington, Indiana, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee and Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Hearthstone Health Campus in Bloomington.

Born July 7, 1942 in Bloomington, he was the son of Albert Louis and Elizabeth E. (Eagleson) Bridgwaters. Thomas retired from Rogers Group as the Corporate Director of Human Resources. He attended Indiana University from 1960-1964 and took other special courses in management and personnel from I.U. from 1976 to 1983. He also performed Opera concerts with Indiana University from 1959-1962. He was proud to serve the Salvation Army in Indianapolis and served formerly on the board of directors for Bethlehem Center in Nashville, Tennessee where he was the president of the board from 1992-1993 and later attended the Covenant and New Bethel Missionary Baptist Churches in Indianapolis. He had also formerly served on the board of the Indiana Highway Credit Union as well as being the treasurer and cashier from 1964-1968 and worked with the Indiana State Highway Commission heading their Equal Opportunity of Employment Division from 1962-1975. He was a member of the Indiana South Central Personnel Association, Indiana Vocation Education Council and the Indiana Laborers Training Institute. Thomas was also a licensed Radio Television Technician. He enjoyed being a member of both the Duplicate-Kates and Cardettes bridge clubs and the past-president of the Indianapolis Bridge Club and also a member of the ACBL.

Thomas is survived by his first wife, Prudence A. Bridgwaters, of Indianapolis and their three sons, Thomas V. Bridgwaters, of Indianapolis, Vashon Wilson Bridgwaters, of Birmingham, Alabama and Clark Vincent Bridgwaters, of Indianapolis; his second wife, Stephanie M. Bridgwaters, of Nashville, Tennessee and their two daughters, Brittany Tess Bridgwaters Fendrick, of Covington, Georgia and Devon Kaila Bridgwaters, of Nashville, Tennessee; two brothers, Oliver V. Bridgwaters and Richard Lee Bridgwaters, both of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Elizabeth Ann Bridgwaters and Vivian Marie Bridgwaters-Gray, both of Bloomington and Mary Judith Deayon, of Los Angeles, California, nine grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Albert Louis Bridgwaters, Jr., David Preston Bridgwaters and John Newlin Bridgwaters.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, December 11 at 3:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St; Bloomington. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A re-pass will be held after the memorial service in the Day Reception Center.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Diabetes Association.
