Born January 20, 1962, in Dalton, Ms. Staton was the daughter of the late George Keener Bawgus and Nellie Mae Cain Tipton. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers. Before retiring, she worked as a supervisor at Superior Uniform Service in Tifton and she was of the Church of God faith.
Ms. Staton is survived by one son, Gregory Staton of Fort Pierce, Florida; two daughters, Brandi Staton of Okeechobee, Florida and Sharista Clark of Clewiston, Florida; one sister, Nellie Donna Salyer of Jacksonville, Florida; and five nieces including Carmen Salyer of Jacksonville, Florida.
