Mrs. Nell Robbins Starks, 68, prominently identified with club, church and political activities here for many years, died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday in Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

For over a year she had been in declining health. Her condition had been serious for the past three weeks.

A native and practically life long resident of Greensburg, she was born in this city on June 5, 1898. Her parents were George O. and Harriett O. Hickman Baumgartner. Reared in this city, she was graduated from Greensburg High School in 1917. Thereafter, she engaged in newspaper work here for several years.

Her marriage to William Sefton Robbins took pace in Greensburg on Sep. 19, 1921. Mr. Robbins, a well known farmer and cattleman, passed away on May 22, 1948.

On Dec. 19, 1956, she was married to Sanford S. Starks at Owensboro, Ky. She and her husband resided at Denver, Colo., for a period prior to his retirement. Mr. Starks, an oil company executive, died in Greensburg on Oct. 12, 1959.

Mrs. Starks had resided at 213 1/2 North Franklin Street, although she had been a guest at Paul-Ann Nursing Home for a number of months prior to being admitted to the hospital here.

Mrs. Starks was a member of the Greeensburg Presbyterian Church. She was a longtime member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority in Greensburg. Active in Republican politics on local, state and national levels, she was a former member of the staff of the Indiana Republican State Central Committee at Indianapolis.

The survivors include: a son, Frank Robbins of R.R.5, Greensburg; a sister, Mrs. George J. (Mary Pearl) Burkert of Edgewood Acres here; two brothers, William B. Baumgartner of Greensburg and Albert C. Baumgartner of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; and several nieces nephews and cousins. A daughter, Nancy Robbins, died on Dec. 5, 1936.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in J. H. Porter & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Rex E. Wentzel, pastor of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.
