Betty was a teacher for several years until her children came along when she devoted herself full-time to being a caring mom. She remained a full-time mom until her children started high school when she volunteered as a church secretary which turned into a full-time job as a financial administrative assistant with Wilcrest Baptist Church located in Houston. She served in this role for 25 years when she retired and focused her attention on her husband, children, and six grandchildren.
Betty's faith was most important to her and she loved going to church and participating in Bible studies. Her foremost passions were being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader and loved quilting. Many of her quilts told a story which were gifted to her children and granchildren and are a constant reminder today of her love.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William E. McCarty, Jr. She is survived by her husband Ross Bell of Richmond, Texas; daughter Dena Kuffel and husband David of Richmond, Texas; son Darren Bell and wife Susan of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her six grandchildren - Brooks Bell of Dallas, Texas; Ashlyn Stewart and husband Luke of Waco, Texas; Weston Bell of Waco, Texas; Taylor Christensen of Pueblo, Colorado; Austin Christensen and wife Mari of Lincoln City, Oregon; and Skylar Christensen of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
