William Harlow Hermann, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7th at his home in Port Orange.

He was born on September 26, 1932 in Lancaster, Ohio to George & Katherine Hermann. Bill received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Antioch College and his Masters of Science degree from UCLA. Bill retired and moved to Florida after a 30-year engineering management career with General Motors (Detroit Diesel Allison).

Bill married Jacqueline Strand in 1955 in Yellow Springs, Ohio after meeting at Antioch College and they were blissfully married for 62 years.

Bill was the longest standing golf member at Spruce Creek Country Club and his passion for golf included leadership roles with both the Florida State Golf Association and LPGA Tour Qualifying School for over 20 years.

Bill is survived by his loving family including his wife Jackie of Port Orange; his son John (Kristi) Hermann of Castle Rock, Colorado, and his daughter Kathy Lew Childress of Hendersonville, Tennessee; his grandchildren Christian, Noah, Breanne and Jordan; and his great grandchild Evelyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Florida State Golf Association
