She was 81 years old. Aretta was born to Glen Dowden and Helen Tressel, and raised by her aunt and uncle, Edward and Willimina (Minnie) Tressel. In addition to her parents, Aretta was preceded in death by her brothers, Dickie and Louis.
Aretta leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Richard Dale Dunwiddie Sr.; children, including Kim (Steve) Gill, Lori (Todd) Eppert and Rick Dunwiddie; grandchildren, including Richard Gooding, Daniel (Jennifer) Gill, Brady (Carrie) Eppert, Camden (Courtney) Eppert and Mya Eppert; and several great-grandchildren.
Aretta was a secretary and homemaker most of her life. She loved parks and beaches and partner dancing with the love of her life. She is now dancing among the Angels.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, Sept. 26, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 2000 Scatterfield Road, Anderson.
