Born in Milford on October 16, 1939, Bob was the son of the late Henry and Eleanor Boynton.
Bob enjoyed his childhood in Bayview, spending time at the beach with his siblings, neighborhood friends, and his many Boynton and Cooke cousins. He attended Point Beach School, and later graduated from Notre Dame High School. He attended Duquesne University and the New England School of Law, before returning to Milford to start his law career and his family, and remained a Milford resident for the rest of his life. He always felt at home on the water.
In 1972, Bob married the love of his life, Phyllis, and they were married for 50 years. Together, they enjoyed traveling, hiking, kayaking, watching UConn basketball, reading, and many cups of coffee. Bob always enjoyed staying active, through rowing, Aikido, and Tai Chi. He was also a dedicated girls basketball coach. Bob loved being part of the Milford community, and gave back through his work on the board of Bridges. He will be deeply missed by those closest to him for his caring heart, his advice, and his sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis Boynton, his daughter and son-in-law, and his grandson. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister and husband, his brother and wife, his brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Cissy Fanning, and his grandson, Oliver McLean.
