Dorothy B. Mapes, 85, passed away on September 26, 2022. Born in Lincoln, NE to Milton and Mary (Aldrich) Beechner. Dorothy graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1959. She was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega, Mortar Board and President of the Student Union. She then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Mount Marty University in 1979.
She is survived by 8 children; Joanie (Mapes) Brugger, Catherine (Mapes) Tunink, Nancy (Jake) Bumann, Jeffrey (Dianne) Mapes, Andrew Mapes, Ann (Darren) Blaser, Molly Mapes, Scott Mapes; 13 grandchildren; Zachary Tunink, Erica Tunink, Abbie Tunink, Nicholas Tunink, Evan Bumann, Lindsey Bumann, Chloe Mapes, Claire Mapes, Jolynn Mapes, Jenna Mapes, Jackson Blaser, Seth Blaser and Paige (Connor) Cochran, 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan Tunink, Colter Tunink and Noah Tunink. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David.
