Daughter of Thomas Patrick and Janie Virginia Cannon Davis, wife of James Allen Ackerman.

MULLINS - Jo Ann Davis Ackerman, 75, left her loving family and joined the heavenly choir on Monday, September 7, 2020. She was born in Hartsville, South Carolina on October 22, 1944, daughter of the late Thomas Patrick Davis and Janie Virginia Cannon Davis.

Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother and woman of deep faith. She not only read and studied her Bible, she walked and talked it in her everyday life. She was a true witness for the power of God's love. Jo Ann also shared her love for God through music. She was a talented pianist, having taught piano for many years, as well as being the pianist for her church, Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member. Working in her yard and her flowers was one of her favorite hobbies.

Jo Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, James "Jim" Ackerman of Mullins, her son, Alvah Justin Ackerman II (Marie) of Bremerton, Washington; 2 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. We respectfully request that you wear a mask and practice social distancing while at the cemetery.
