William Millett was the son of Andrew Francis Millett and Hazel Smith. The family moved from Hackensack to Chicago around 1926. William served in the South Pacific during WWII. He married his beloved Mary Eileen McCann in 1946.

William worked for the Illinois Central Railroad as an electrician. In later years he was a crossing guard for the Alsip, IL police department. He was a devoted family man who would read poetry to his children at the supper table. William spent his life giving his all, loving his wife, children and grandchildren and is sorely missed by all who knew him.
