Daniel J. Allen 89, of Holmdel passed away on November 26, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital. Daniel was born in Bronx, N.Y. to the late Phillip Allen and Catherine (Brown).
Daniel served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for DALC of NYC as a shipping clerk. Daniel loved making model ships.
Daniel is survived by his loving niece Barbara Ryan and loving nephew Clarke Ryan and his wife Susan. Also surviving are his grandnephew Matthew Ryan and his wife Michelle, and his grandnieces Elizabeth Ryan and her husband Jessie Toma, Claire Ryan and his great grandniece Josie Toma.
Visitation will take place at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue Red Bank, NJ on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catharine's R.C. Church in Holmdel on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Daniel's memory to the National Audubon Society.
