Clersie Ruby Daniels, 93, of Jasper died Tuesday, Feb. 23 (2010).

She was born Jan. 21, 1917, the daughter of the late Gaither and Minnie Smith Willis. She was a member of the Shiloh United Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Normal Daniels; three brothers, Wilburn, Tommy and Walter Willis; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Gerald Daniels of Shiloh, Charles Daniels of Kansas City, Kan., Clinton Daniels of Shiloh, Roger Daniels of Harrison; two brothers, Coy Willis of Deer and Louis Willis of Lawrence Kan.; Four daughters, Gevena Helderman of Springdale, Goldie Rylee of Shiloh, Glenda Henderson of Parthenon, Karen Edgmon of Shiloh; 17 Grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.

Funeral was 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Buffalo Church with Donnie Villines and Robert Huber officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Christeson Funeral Home of Harrison. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Christeson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers included Chris Daniels, Harold Dryer, Michael Henderson, Jason Henderson, Matt Daniels and Nathan Daniels.

Honorary pallbearers included Dr. Jimmy Justice and staff of Newton County Family Practice.Clersie is survived by 8 children, 2 brothers, 62 grandchildren.

Services were held 2/25/2010 at Buffalo Church and Cemetery between Parthenon and Murry, AR, under the direction of Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, Harrison, AR.
