Bernard David Smith, 73, of Oswawtomie, KS, passed away on May 22, 2015, with his family by his side. He was born June 19, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was a foster father for 25+ years before moving to Paola, KS, to retire.
He was joined in his second marriage to Judith (Simac) Smith on August 20,1976. He was a loving husband for 38 years and a proud father and grandfather
He is survived by his wife, Judy Smith, two brothers, Edward (Kathy) Smith, Bill (Marcia) Smith, one sister, Pat Heber, three children, Douglas (Loretta) Smith, David (Michelle) Smith, Julie Brandt, two step-children, Kim Tucker, David (Chris) Tucker, multiple foster children, 14 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
There will be a service at 6 p.m. June 23, 2015. at Knollwood Cemetery.
