EDWARD J. BOPREY

Edward J. Boprey, age 79, of 1604 S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died
Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
He was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Two Rivers, son of the late Edward M.
and Martha (Sibenhorn) Boprey. Edward was a graduate of Two Rivers
Washington High School, Class of 1948. He was a veteran of the United
States Air Force serving during the Korean War. On Sept. 3, 1955, he
married the former Dolores Ruzek at Grace Congregational United Church
of Christ, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death Jan. 18, 2004. Edward
was a journeyman/machinist, division manager and debarking systems
division manager all at the Manitowoc Company, retiring in 1990.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Cathy and Jim Mallion; a
son and daughter-in-law: Bryan and Nancy Boprey; a daughter and son-in-law:
Shelley and Dennis Yurk, all of Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Melissa and
Sara Mallion, Travis and Brandon Boprey, Maranda and Samuel Yurk;
three great-grandchildren: Savannah Bice, Sierra and Dakota Mallion; and
three sisters: Cora Sawyer, Milwaukee, Margaret Strohm, Two Rivers, and
Gertrude Anderberg, Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by five brothers-in-law
and one sister-in-law: Clifford Anderberg, Neal Sawyer, Lester Strohm,
Norman Ruzek, and Harlan & Virginia Ruzek.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at
Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service
will be the Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso with entombment
at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, until the time
of service at 11:30 a.m.
A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Aurora Medical Center
for the compassion and care to Edward and his family.
In lieu of flowers all memorials will be donated by the family to the National
Diabetes Foundation.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is
assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
