Morton, CA - Church service for Charles Abbe, 77, of Morton is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Second and Taylor Street Church of Christ with Bill Schlabaugh and Owen Carr officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Abbe died Friday, April 15, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Oct. 24, 1927 in Gladiola, N.M. He married Jean Richardson in Morton on Nov. 16, 1948.

Mr. Abbe was a long time resident of the Morton community. He was a farmer and a manager for farm fuel retailers for many years. He was a member of the Second and Taylor Street Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Oleta Abbe, and a brother, Mitchell on April 6, 2004.

Survivors include: his wife, Jean; sons and daughters-in-law, Charley Bob and Jeannie of Ardmore, Okla. and Geneo and Debbie of Panhandle; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Bennie Martin of Petersburg; daughter, Leann of Morton; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial to the Cochran County Cancer Fund.
