John Carleton Trook, 84, of Huntington, passed away at 5:05 am Friday, October 7, 2022, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington IN.

John was born on October 9, 1937, in Peru, IN, the son of Carleton Trook and Rosalyn (Gallagher) Trook. He graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1955 and went on to receive his bachelor's degree in history from Huntington College. He spent many years teaching, but most will remember him as an antique dealer. He faithfully attended church at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and New Hope Church both of Huntington, IN.

John was a simple man that enjoyed making others smile. His greatest pleasure was performing magic tricks for kids. He loved dogs from a young age and was passionate about teaching them how to play musical instruments. He enjoyed going to auctions and was a collector of primitive items. John's history major inspired him to learn more about the Amish faith and traditions. He spent several years teaching the Amish children.

Survivors include his sister, Carole Hacker of Huntington, IN; niece, Joy (Don) Conley of Huntington, IN; two great nieces, Michelle Storms of FL, Elizabeth Ringer of IN. He is preceded in death by his father, Carleton L. Trook and mother, Rosalyn Trook.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, with Fr. Tony Steinacker officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.

Preferred memorials to the St Jude's Children's Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN, 46750.
