On Nov. 5, 1941, Linda Faye Barton was born to Lucille and W.H. Strickland in Cleburne. After attending Alvarado High School, she graduated summa cum laude from Texas Wesleyan University in 1962. She was an educator for over 30 years in the Joshua and Alvarado school systems. In 1965, she married Jackie Driver and had two children, Tracy and Toni. After her husband's death, she married Harry Barton, and they celebrated 34 years of marriage.
Linda enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, loved Elvis and treasured spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mimi.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, W.H. and Lucille Strickland; husband, Jackie Driver; and stepfather, J.C. Mahanay.
Survivors: Her husband, Harry Barton; daughters, Tracy Redman and Toni Bowling; son-in-law, James Bowling; sisters, Jean Drennan and husband, Dave, Sheri Barton and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Trevor Redman, Nicholas Barton Redman, Dane William Redman and Dylan Reese Bowling; nieces and nephews, Tammy Guzman, Elizabeth Meyers, Mark Drennan and Christina Hildebrand; and many cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and wonderful friends.
