She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Ed Wilson Burks, Jr of Jefferson City, Missouri, one stepson, George Burks of Belton, Missouri; two step-daughters, Jean Toalson of Centralia, Missouri and Jane Lee of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons, John Wesley Burks of Wardsville, Missouri and Chad William Burks of Holts Summit; four great-grandchildren, Blake Elizabeth, Madelyne, Bailey, and Hayden Burks; numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; one brother, Jay Winterowd of Arnold, Missouri; one sister, Hope Winterowd of Fulton, Missouri; one niece and one nephew; other relatives and many dear friends. Her parents, husband, one stepson, Frank Burks, and one step-grandson preceded her in death.
Alice had worked at the Brown Shoe Company in Fulton for many years. She was a member of the Millersburg Baptist Church. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Fulton in 1964. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and she loved taking care of her family.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Interment will be at the Millersburg Cemetery.
