Bessie Darragh Allen, 94, of Stockdale, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Hempstead Manor of Portsmouth.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry J. Darragh; second husband, Orval E. Allen; a daughter, Shirley Frances Darragh; and a son, Harold B. Darragh. She joins three deceased sisters and three brothers. She leaves behind one sister, Lona Jamison of Rockwood, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jeff Darragh of Sweetwater, Tenn., Greg Darragh of Naples, Fla., and Brenda Hartley of Miamisburg, Ohio.

Bessie was of the Baptist faith, and was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Greenup County, Ky., to the late William and Rosina Potter. She enjoyed farming and raising vegetable plants.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with the Rev. Sherman "Bud" Mefford officiating. Burial will be in Black Oak Cemetery in Lewis County, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service Monday
