ANNE OBIE OBITUARY

Anne B. Obie, age 93, a resident of Wisteria Haus, Two Rivers, died Saturday evening, Dec. 17, 2011, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Anne was born March 30, 1918, in Denmark, a daughter of the late Matt and Katherine (Forst) Cisler. Anne met Henry J. 'Hank' Obie at the Hedman Company, where they were both employed. They were married on May 3, 1947, in Chicago, Ill. On Oct. 1, 1973, the couple retired to Two Rivers. Anne enjoyed her time spent with Hank when he performed with area bands. Hank preceded Anne in death on Feb. 28, 1995. She was an avid knitter, providing many pairs of booties for newborns at Aurora Medical Center and was a member of the "Coming Home" Choir at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Survivors include one sister: Mary Smogoleski, Two Rivers; a sister-in-law: Marie Cisler, Two Rivers; along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister: Emily Konop; and a brother: Joseph Cisler.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.

Memorials in Anne's name may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, is assiting the Obie family with funeral arrangements.

Anne's family extends a special thank you to the staff at Wisteria Haus for the compassion and care extended to Anne during her one and half years as a resident.
