GEORGE B. POULTON, 94, of BRICK, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Ocean Medical Center Hospice unit, Brick, with his loving family at his side. He was a mobile dispatcher at Earle Navan Ammunition Depot, Colts Neck for 26 years, retiring in 1971. Born in Rochester, N.Y., he lived in Point Pleasant Beach before moving to Brick in 1967. He was a modest veteran of World War II, who proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. George was an active member of many organizations, including Amvets, past commander and chaplain of the American Legion Post 196, Point Pleasant Beach; B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 1698, Point Pleasant; the 40/8 of Jackson, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was most proud to have been the Supervisor of Veterans Interment for Ocean County for over 35 years. George had a great love for all animals, especially his cat, Cali. He was a life member of the Popcorn Park Zoo and the Jersey Shore Animal Shelter in Brick.

He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Anne Fisher Poulton; a son, John Fisher; a daughter, Nancy Forgach; two grandsons, James and Jeffrey Duffield; and a son-in-law, Joel Forgach. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Betty Fisher of Neptune; four daughters and sons-in-law, Georgia and Neil Rankin of Toms River, Joanne and Jerry Duffield of Brick, Alma Ruiz and Carlos Salazar of San Manuel, Ariz., and Cindy and James Scott of Brick; a daughter-in-law, Diane Fisher of Point Pleasant; his grandchildren, Gerald Duffield, Robert and Theresa Metz, Jimmy and Melissa Scott, Vicky Collins, Tracy Staffieri, Kelly Sperling, Shaun Rankin, and Charles and Jungil Yoo; and his great-grandchildren, Grant Duffield, Devin Reed, Robert and Jonathan Metz, Justin and Kellan Staffieri, Amanda and Michael Collins, and baby boy Sperling due in May.

Viewing hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A funeral service will be offered at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to George's memory to the Popcorn Park Zoo, Lacey Road, Lacey, or to Jersey Shore Animal Shelter, Brick Boulevard, Brick, NJ 08724.
