Barbara Ramsey Gilbert

Barbara Nell Ramsey Gilbert, 73, of 346 Ammons Road, died Monday, February 4, 2008, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born December 18, 1935, in Arcadia, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Albert Ferd and Cumy Hammond Ramsey and the wife of the late Robert "Bob" Frederick Gilbert. She was the owner and operator of Gilbert and Sons Shoe Company.
Survivors include three sons, Bruce Gilbert and his wife, Dot, of Mauldin, Blane Gilbert and Barry Gilbert, both of Spartanburg; a sister, Joan Sparnell of York; two brothers, Kenneth Ramsey and Jerry Lee Ramsey, both of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Casey Vaughan and her husband Andy, and Robert Chase Gilbert; two stepgranddaughters, Melody Hood and Helen Bailey; and a great-grandchild, Madison Vaughan.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Sam Marcengill. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
