ROY A. JONES DIED FRIDAY
Roy A. Jones, 89, a resident of Milford, died at 1:20 p.m. Friday in Decatur County Hospital, where he had been a patient the past 10 days.
The son of John Preston and Josie (Young) Jones, he was born in Shelby county May 16, 1884.
Mr. Jones, who retired from Arvin Industries at Columbus several years ago, had lived in Milford most of his life. He was a member of the Bethel Separate Baptist church.
His wife, Earnie, whom he married February 14, 1912 at Greenup, Illinois, preceded him in death February 7, 1965.
Four children survive. They are Kenneth (K.C.) Jones, Harold P. Jones and Mrs. Howard (Margie) Carter, all of Milford, and Walter A. Jones, Greensburg.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ethel McDonald, and Mrs. John (Zella) Paul, both of St. Paul; two half-sisters, Mrs. Howard (Naomi) Trietsch, Florida and Mrs. Mack (Dora) Monroe, Waldron; two half-brothers, Orville Jones, St. Paul, and Forest Jones, Indianapolis; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday in J. H. Porter & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Glenn Semon of the Bethel Separate Church officiating. Burial will be in the Milford Cemetery.
