HMC Bobby E. Woodell died October 8, 2022. Chief Woodell, a twice wounded Hospital Corpsman, served with the US Marine corps during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired after 29 years of Navel Service and began a second career with the US Postal Service. He rose through the ranks from substitute mail clerk to Manager General Mail Facility in Little Rock, retiring after 22 years.

He was born January 13, 1933 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to the late William Fred Woodell and Reva Wofford Woodell.

He was predeceased by two wives, Evelyn Williams Woodell in 1975 and Joan Rives Woodell in 2010; a son, Fred Arnold Woodell; and two brothers, Eber Charles and William Fred Woodell.

He is survived by son, Bobby E. Woodell Jr. of US Maritime Service, daughters, Carol Holt of Cabot, Arkansas and Virginia Simpson of Little Rock, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to your favorite charity.

Visitation will be from 3:00PM-5:00PM Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107). Funeral service will be at 11:00AM Monday, October 17, 2022 at the funeral home with interment following at Little Rock National Cemetery.
