Professional Football Player. He started his athletic career while still in high school in Flint, Michigan at Northern High School where he was an all-star athlete. After graduating from high school he attend Arizona State University, where he was the first black star athlete in the school. In his first year he was named Border Conference Freshman of the Year. After graduating from college he was drafted in the 8th round of the 1958 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers as a back, but chose to play with the Titans of New York where he played for 1 season, 1960. He also played professionally for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and for a local semi-pro team, the Grand Rapids Blazers.
