John C. Barta, age 76, of Manitowoc, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. John was born on August 31, 1946 in Manitowoc, son of the late Raymond and Ellen (Dallke) Barta. He graduated with the class of 1964 from Manitowoc Lutheran High School. John served his country in the United States Air Force. Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret (John) Bentley, Manitowoc; Kaye (Ronald) Schwoerer, Valders, nieces, nephews, other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Ellen Barta; one brother: Paul Barta. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Military Honors will be accorded by Otto-Oas VFW Post #659 of Manitowoc, immediately following the service.
